Our Fifth Graders released 117 Chinook Salmon today at the Tittabawasse River! Mrs. Henning’s science classes raised the salmon from eggs to a young salmon smolt stage in their classroom tank. The students learned about caring for the salmon, how the salmon came to live in the Great Lakes, balancing conservation of our natural ecosystems, as well as Michigan river systems.

3rd and 4th grade will take the M-STEP next week.

The Freeland Athletic Association hosted their annual banquet on Sunday; honoring FHS Seniors who have participated in a sport for all four (4) years of school, recognizing six (6) four-year/three-sport athletes, and awarding ten (10) $1000 scholarships to deserving students.

On May 1st, FHS students had an opportunity to attend the Michigan Construction Career Day in Howell. Students looked at construction careers up-close with education and employment information, hands on activities using real tools and hands on heavy equipment operation.
