This week, Freeland Middle School is thrilled to recognize Mr. LaFond, a 7th and 8th grade Science teacher in our building. Mr. LaFond is in his 11th year teaching at Freeland Community School District. His first seven years were spent at the elementary school teaching 6th grade. Mr. LaFond indicated that the most rewarding part of teaching in the middle shcool is making a positive impact on our students who are struggling through the highs and lows of the middle years. Students in the middle school change day to day, and hour to hour, and he enjoys working with the variety of emotions that walk through his doors each day. Mr. LaFond loves to make Science class fun and exciting for students by bringing humor into the classroom whenever he can!
Mr. LaFond is a Freeland Falcon full of pride in his community. He loves the dedication this town has, and the personal committment that is felt on all levels including administrators, staff members, students, parents, and community members. He indicated that he loves that Freeland demonstrates strong support for one another in times of need, which leads to a feeling of belonging, and makes working in Freeland a great place to shape young minds!
Go Falcons!
