The 2020-2021 School Year in Freeland – July 30, 2020
On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, our Freeland team met again as we work toward completing Freeland’s District Preparedness Plan for the opening of our schools for the 2020-2021 school year. We expect to complete our plan next week, have it approved by the Board of Education, and share it with the community on Friday, August 7th.
Things the will be part of the recommended plan:
· Y5-8th grade students will go to school all-day/every day beginning Monday, August 31
· Each classroom of Y5-8th grade students will be kept together throughout the day
· Y5-8th grade students who elect the virtual option will enroll in Lincoln Learning courses
· 9th-12th grade students who elect the virtual option will enroll in Michigan Virtual courses
· 6th-12th grade students will have a six (6) period day
· Practices and procedures will be in place to keep our students and staff safe.
The biggest pieces we have yet to firm up are the details as to how we will bring our 9th -12th grade students back to school. You should expect this planning to be detailed next week.
