Freeland Community School District

The Special Services Department would like to introduce Lynne Loiselle, one of the two Speech & Language Pathologists working in the district.  Ms. Loiselle has worked in the public school system since 2002.  She has been an SLP since 2011 and began working in the Freeland Community School District in 2012.  The most common skill sets used within the educational setting include treatment of apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, auditory processing disorders, augmentative/alternative communication (AAC), autism, pragmatics, cognitive-communication disorders, fluency disorders (stuttering), phonological disorders and language disorders. Additional areas of practice include aphasia, Injuries to the neurologic system from stroke, tumors, degenerative diseases, traumatic injury, etc. that affect various aspects of speech, language, and thinking, laryngectomies, oral myofunctional disorders (tongue thrust), resonance disorders, swallowing disorders (dysphagia), and voice disorders.  According to Ms. Loiselle, the most rewarding part of her job is sharing in the joy and pride that students feel when they grasp a concept that they have been working on or when they have achieved their goals and no longer require services.  Ms. Loiselle cherishes the time spent with each student.  She enjoys making learning fun.  She believes that Freeland is a wonderful community with caring families much like the small town that she grew up in. This growing community is a great place to be!
