Freeland is very excited to have our Volleyball, Soccer, & Football seasons beginning in the next two weeks. However, please realize that these games will not be open to the general public. As we are in Phase 4, spectators will be limited to two per participant for all sports.

Wednesday - Freeland finished 2nd in their 3rd TVC Jamboree, shooting their second best 9 hole score of the season with a 191. Top scorers were Lydia Back (43 - 2nd), Grace Pumford (45), Sophie Argyle (47), and Zoey Markey (56).
Thrusday - The Falcons played in the very competitive Patriot Cup, shotting a 384. Scoring were Lydia Back (89), Grace Pumford (93), Zoey Markey (100), and Sophie Argyle (102).

Congratulations to the Freeland HS Equestrian team - Division A District Champs, earning 705.5 points in this weekend's competition. They move on to Regionals Oct 2-4. Every member of the team contributed points.

Any Transportation Request forms or changes submitted after 3 pm today (8/27/20) will not take effect until Wednesday (9/2/20). This must be done in order for our drivers to have their routes and assigned seating completed in time for the first day of school.

Please be patient as times will vary while we work through the first few weeks of school with the soft start for Y5-8th and alternating schedule for 9th-12th. Buses will most likely be arriving later the first 2 weeks since only half the students will be riding each day.

Freeland Elementary is looking for students interested in earning Service Hours to assist in Chromebook distribution on Wednesday (26th) and/or Thursday (27th) this week. Freeland High School’s 2nd season fishing in Michigan BASS Nation High School tournaments was very successful. The Freeland Team's growth shows in the Angler Of The Year standings. AOY is an accumulation of points earned based on how a team finishes each of the 4 team trails throughout regular season. 2020 AOY results are based on a field of 200 anglers. Michigan’s top 3 anglers earned at spot in Nationals.

• Jack Sprague & Cole Jimkoski tied for 6th
• Dalton Polega & Luke East 51st
When you take a look at last season you can see how our teams improved.
Ruckman & Helmreich: Two years in a row 5th in AOY. Runner up for Nationals in 2019.
Sprague & Jimkoski: 34th in 2019 to 6th in 2020.
Polega & East: Jumped from 75th to 51st in 2020.
Our angler's dedication, passion, and hard work continues to show in their results. All three teams qualified for State Championship/National Qualifier on Sept. 5-6. Congratulations and good luck!
One of the many challenges Freeland Schools has going into the start of school is the distribution of tech devices to our 2-12 "in-person" students and our Y5-12 "virtual" students. To make this happen, we are looking for volunteers (a great way for students to get service hours) to help us set up for our distribution. Work will be at Freeland Elementary School any time Monday, Aug. 17 - Thursday, Aug. 20 between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Those interested can contact Kelly Baker at bakerk@freelandschools.net for more information.
To follow up on a previous update, all produce box distribution is done. Per the USDA, there are not contracts/funding in place to continue the program. We are glad to have been able to serve the community and beyond, while we could.
We continue on with our commitment to the Freeland Community and beyond! Stop by Freeland Elementary today from 11-2, for free breakfast and lunch pick up. These meals are for anyone 18 and under, no matter where you live. Our volunteers and staff would love to see you today!
