Last night, the Freeland Board of Education took action to name the next superintendent of the Freeland Community School District. On July 1, 2023, Freeland Elementary School Principal Marcus Hillborg will be replacing retiring Superintendent Matt Cairy in that position. Taking advantage of the lead time they have been given, the Board of Education is posting the Freeland Elementary School Principal position and will be searching for an exceptional leader to replace Mr. Hillborg at FES, possibly as early as January 2023. The Board of Education has planned for an organized transition in leadership, assuring that the Freeland Community School District continues the excellent education it provides to all of our students

The JBL Angler of the Year Champions were Freeland's Brayden Ruckman & Nathan Helmreich.
Finishing 2nd were Freeland's Cole Jimkoski & Jack Sprague who were beat out for 1st by Ruckman/Helmreich on a tie breaker.
Dalton Polega & Sarah Hable finished in the top 25 Angler of the Year standings and Hayden Persyn & Alex Schuette finished 38th.
