FHS students in Mr. Keson's Manufacturing Tech courses received a grant from the Niles Foundation. This grant provided the opportunity for our students to design and build metal storage racks for our shop. Great work to all of our students, and a big thank you to the Niles Foundation for the grant which made this possible.

Good luck to our FHS track team, competing at MITCA today. This was their early morning send off!

FHS is proud to recognize these 26 seniors for their commitment to becoming a Freeland Scholar! These seniors devoted their time to completing a job shadow or work based learning experience during high school, took more rigorous courses , and completed a minimum of 100 hours of community service during high school, which makes them a Freeland Scholar. We recognized them at a special breakfast today, hosted by our Freeland Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations to all of these seniors!

FHS is excited to highlight our Social Studies teacher, Mrs. Kristin Aimar. She has taught in Freeland for 2 years, and has been teaching for 16 years. When asked what she enjoys most about teaching, she feels that getting to know her students is so rewarding. She likes to see how much growth they make from the start to the end of the year. Her favorite memories are made being present at community events such as the homecoming parade, athletic events, concerts, and plays. Outside of school, Kristin enjoys spending time with her family, and staying on top of all the athletic events her children participate in. She likes spending her free time watching their involvement here in our community. Thank you Mrs. Aimar, for being such an amazing educator in our district!

FHS Student Council hosted Walk A Mile in Her Shoes on Friday, May 9th to raise awareness for sexual assault and gender violence prevention. Before the walk, we held some fun competitions for our participants, and you will see the winners pictured here. Overall, we had 300 students and staff join in and we raised over $500 for the Underground Railroad of Saginaw. Great job to all of our participants!

FHS students in Ms. Klida's art class partnered with Covenant Hospital recently. Students painted boxes that will contain gifts to go home with parents who have lost a child. We are so grateful that our students had a chance to be involved in such an impactful way for those who are grieving.

Students at FHS participated in spirit days, received an awareness bracelet from the LINKS program, participated in a GLOW dance, and had an opportunity to participate in a human ribbon last week as a final culmination of Autism Awareness Month. We stand together in understanding and awareness of our peers and students at FHS with autism.

Students in Mrs. Hoffmann's Spanish 1 class Spanish 1 just finished learning about a famous tradition in Tarragona, Spain called Castells. Castells are human towers that are part of a festival competition. Students made their own version of castells using plastic cups to see how elaborate their towers could be.
