Rhetorical devices costume contest day in 9th Grade English yesterday. Students were assigned a device, had to dress up as their example, and teach their device to their peers. Very impressed with their creativity and effort!

FHS kicks off our annual Food Drive this week, and we have an opportunity to beat Swan Valley on the football field and in our food drive. If you are attending Friday, please bring items to donate. Donation boxes will be at the entrance of the game Friday night.

Last week, the FHS Chief Science Officers, Bailee Mantei, Abagial Johnson, and Hana Pan spent the day with their advisor, Mr. Schmidt, at the Michigan Department of Transportation and part of their day touring the inside of the Zilwaukee Bridge.
This week, FHS highlights Janene Chisek, who teaches Business classes, Accounting, and Electronic Research. Mrs. Chisek has been at FHS for 32 years. Seeing her students succeed and knowing that they have learned something are the most rewarding parts of her job. She feels great pleasure when she gets visits and notes after students graduate, expressing their appreciation and sharing that they learned how to be responsible adults while learning her subject matter. Mrs. Chisek enjoys daily interaction with her students because they making learning fun. She enjoys watching them mature throughout high school and beyond.

The FHS Students Leading Students group is prepping for their annual food drive which starts Monday, October 29 and continues through Friday, November 16 to support the St. Agnes food pantry. Which 4th hour will win the competition with the most donations?
Thank you to Mrs. Klida's Drawing students from FHS for creating unique signs for the Google Conference we are hosting here on November 5-6th. Student signs will be placed all around our building while we host 500 teachers from across our state.
