FHS students in Mrs. Neal's Health classes were visited by Mrs. Griffin from Gift of Life Michigan to learn about organ, tissue and eye donation. Students interacted through a trivia game, saw real bone samples and wore special glasses that show what it is like to need a corneal transplant. Thank you Mrs. Griffin for sharing your time with us!

FHS is pleased to highlight Mr. Schmidt. He teaches Biology and Anatomy and Physiology in our science department, and this is his fourth year here. He stated, "My involvement with the Chief Science Officer program has led to very rewarding experiences related to increasing student leadership roles in the school and community." The thing he enjoys most about working in Freeland is seeing students come up with solutions to investigations or when students are left actively asking questions about what could possibly be the next steps for the investigation. Thank you Mr. Schmidt for your service to our students.
FHS students in Mrs. Neal's Health class learned about the heart today. As a cross curricular connection, Mr. Schmidt's Anatomy class is also dissecting deer hearts, so he shared a real heart with Mrs. Neal's students.
