Even though the staff at the high school teaches remotely, we can still have a festive sweater day!

FHS is pleased to highlight Mrs. Laurie Miller today. This is Mrs. Miller's 28th year teaching in our English Department. She said, "I am blessed to work with young people everyday who never fail to surprise me, plus they keep me on my toes and young at heart!" She also enjoys the tremendous, supportive staff and administration. She said she can "rely on their expertise and advice, and they are always willing to help out. They are rock stars." Thank you for your dedication to our students and our school Mrs. Miller.

FHS and FMS staff members are so appreciative of our parents who volunteer in our FPSO (Falcon Parent Support Organization). Today, they brought in donuts for all staff to help us get through these difficult days of remote learning. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!

FHS students in Mrs. Klida's Creative Explorations Class have completed batiks, using a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to a cloth. The batiks are now decorating our hallways. Great job students!

FHS students in Mrs. Keefer’s Parent and Childcare Class are about to embark on a new adventure, practicing basic infant care techniques and baby needs through the Real Care Baby program. If you see our students with their new infant, they will be busy this weekend.

FHS students in Mrs. Howson's Honors English 9 class participated in a rhetorical devices costume contest and dressed up as their assigned word or example and taught the class about the device in preparation for our upcoming rhetorical analysis unit.

The Freeland Bass Fishing team of Nate Helmreich and Brayden Ruckman competed last week at the Bassmaster High School National Championship on Kentucky Lake. They competed against a field of over 250 boats. Fishing was challenging with 48 teams never landing a legal fish. They finished 102 of 250+ boats with a total of 6 lbs 12 oz. We are happy to have them represent FHS and fish against the best in the nation!

FHS is honored to win this year's @GreatSchools 2020 College Success Award! We won this distinction for our successful track record of preparing students to enroll in college and succeed once they get there. For more information, visit greatschools.org.

FHS students in Mrs. Neal's Honors Physics class are completing an inquiry based lab to calculate the affect of ramp height on the velocity of their toy cars.
