We are hoping that our elementary students brought the Lions good luck today with their Blue Day last Friday! Go LIONS!

Congratulations to Mrs. Wirsing, our 6th grade EDGE Teacher!
EDGE is a new 6th grade class at the elementary school and stands for Exploration, Discovery, and Growth Experience. The class ties in all 6th grade subject areas with emphasis on hands on learning, technology and STEM!

An opportunity for our 6th graders!

Tomorrow at FES!

Happy New Year from FES! Our second graders have kicked off the new year by doing some fun activities in their classrooms. We are ready for 2024!

Happy Holidays from the Elementary School!
Our students enjoyed their last day before break with caroling from the 6th grade band, a compliment "snow ball" fight in 2nd grade, pancake breakfasts, and so much more! We will see everyone back to school on January 3, 2024.

Over the last month the 6th grade students have been creating games to complete their Cardboard Carnival. The games were tested out this week by all of our 2nd-5th grade students! Great job 6th graders, everyone had a BLAST!

Our PALSS groups at the elementary school got to have their holiday celebration last Friday. They had pizza and desserts, listened to music and enjoyed good company!

Thank you to the Freeland Biggby for donating coffee for our elementary staff this morning. It was greatly appreciated and definitely made our Monday even merrier!

Mrs. Quast's 3rd graders had an "Ice Day." After they finished their "How to Build a Snowman" writing, they got to test out their directions by building their own creations!

On Wednesday, players from the Saginaw Spirit joined our 5th and 6th graders in PE. They played floor hockey with students and talked about their experiences!
It was a great time! Thank you to the players for spending time with our students, it was greatly appreciated.

We are so proud of this amazing group of 6th graders for presenting at the FCSD School Board meeting this evening. They worked hard, collaborated and knocked the presentation out of the park!

Students in Mrs. Duley's 4th grade classroom welcome Mrs. Meitler, one of our district instructional coaches, into the classroom last week for some engaging math work. You can tell by their faces and their focused work that they had a great time and can't wait for her next visit!

This week's FCSD staff spotlight is Mr. Wildey, our 5th grade language arts teacher!

Our Annual Food Drive is winding down at the elementary school! We will be collecting donations through Friday, December 15th. Thank you to all of those who have donated!

Students from Mrs. Richardson’s high school class surprised Miss Helmreich’s students with some holiday fun! The students read the Grinch, did some caroling, and spent time reading books together!

Thank you to Kluck Nursery for hosting our 2nd graders over the last two weeks. You can see by the smiles that they had a great time!

Enjoy the pictures of some great activities that took place this week with our elementary students collaborating with one another, and even Mrs. Quast's third graders working with the 6th graders to code and build their "floats" with robots!
Our second graders used balloons to design their own Thanksgiving Day Parade floats. Such a great way to use imagination and creativity. We want to wish you a great holiday weekend filled with memories with family and friends! We will see you all back at school on Monday, November 27.

This week Fifth Grade partnered with the "Water on the Go" program sponsored by Consumer Energy to work on the Design & Engineering Process! The "Water on the Go" program presented how quickly "invisible" pollutants enter the watershed and fifth graders were challenged to design solutions to protect the watershed. The students also created models of their solution ideas and explained their findings based on their investigations!

Third grade students in Mrs.. Helmreich’s third grade class finished up their final Junior Achievement lessons with Mrs. Stacy Causley today! They learned about money choices-earn, save, spend and donate. We learned how each choice affects the others. Finally, we built a city consisting of a multipurpose area, housing area, agricultural area, business area and industrial area!
So many of our classes have started and are working through lessons for Junior Achievement! We thank all of our volunteers for their time in our classrooms.
